Movie Logs (Oct 2013)

1st Oct - SHAUN OF THE DEAD (Edgar Wright, 2004) - 9*
It is a quirky, fun, original zombie movie which has got the universal appeal.

2nd Oct - HOT FUZZ (Edgar Wright, 2007) - 8*
Another amazingly fun movie by Edgar Wright. Nick Frost is such a joy to watch. First Kill List and now this, I am permanently scared of English country!

3rd Oct - THE WORLD'S END (Edgar Wright, 2013) - 9*
What a super 3rd act! Cornetto is fun fun fun. Edgar Wright is going to be one of the best dir. of our times.

4th Oct - THIS IS THE END (Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, 2013) - 7*
Jonah Hill and brilliant dialogues from Seth Roger and Evan Goldberg makes it worth a watch. Though, it doesn't hold as much by the end.

8th Oct - THE LUNCHBOX (Ritesh Batra, 2013) - 8*
The idea of romance has never been so original in recent times as this movie showed. Powerful acting from Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin grabs your eyes throughout the movie, and movie lives with you forever.

17th Oct - LUCIA (Pawan Kumar, 2013) - 7*
Best Indian Concept movie of the year. Based on a pill that gives a man other kind of life..life of his dream..which is actually a parallel reality. Songs were unwanted. But hates off to Dir. who made this on lowest possible budget 5 million INR; crowd-funded; made it release; and it grossed around 30 million rupees. WIN!

19th Oct - GRAVITY (Alfonso Cuaron, 2013) - 10*
Best movie I have seen this year. It was 2 hour space ride. Finally a movie which gives viewers actual idea about what its like to be in space. I also loved the message of human determination that GRAVITY delivers.

21st Oct - WRECK-IT RALPH (Rich Moore, 2012) - 7*
Heard a lot good thing about the movie so my expectations were little high. Story takes some times to settle in characters; their details; various games and after all this it was so well executed. It made me laugh, made me sad & made me jump over my seat. Good Fun!

22nd Oct - GOOD NIGHT GOOD MORNING (Sudish Kamath, 2012) - 8*
What would you expect from a movie based over a mobile phone conversation happened during a night til morning. Well..this turned out to be surprising original, candid & real. Romantic talks looks real very rare time but the way conversation kept engage me throughout the movie was very impressive. Great creative work by Writer and Dir.!
